On Saturday, December 16th, explore Hanukkah traditions around the world with CBS-CS. Beginning with Havdalah at 5:30 pm, participants will light Hanukkah candles and sing Hanukkah songs. Participants are encouraged to bring their own hanukkiot and candles. While the lights burn bright, we will begin our adventure, discovering how the Jewish people celebrated Hanukkah across space and time. Through this immersive theater experience, we will learn how place and the atmosphere of the time affected the way people celebrated Hanukkah, and how this shaped Halacha (Jewish law) and Minhag (tradition). At each station, a local dish will be served. Children will have the opportunity to get their ‘passports’ stamped at each country; if they go to all of the stations they will receive a special Hanukkah treat.

Please RSVP by December 8th via form or to office@cbscs.org. Suggested donation: $5 per person. We would also greatly appreciate children’s books for our Mitzvah Day project with Interfaith Works. In addition, please also bring socks and hand warmers for people experiencing homelessness.

Temple Concord is spearheading this effort again as a joint Jewish community effort. Even if you are not coming to the Hanukkah dinner, you may drop off these items in the CBS-CS lobby. Thank you for helping our neighbors.
