The CBS-CS Religious School provides educational experiences for all Jewish children in Pre-Kindergarten through seventh grade that are warm and inviting, yet are also thought-provoking, creative, flexible, and interactive.

Sunday 9:00 am to noon
Sunday classes meet from 9 a.m. to noon.  Our three core areas of learning are Torah (study), Avodah (prayer) and G’milut Hasadim (acts of loving kindness).  Included in these areas are Jewish music, Hebrew, the Five Books of Moses, Jewish holidays, Israel, and mitzvot (good deeds).  Teachers incorporate art, drama, literature, creative writing, games, media, debate discussion and food in the curriculum.  Our curriculum is dynamic, evolving to meet the needs of our children and families. Each Sunday morning ends with an interactive multi-media prayer service to which all family members are invited. Second graders receive their own Siddurs (prayer books) at the end of the school year.

All classrooms have high-school-age Madrichim, (student assistant teachers) who learn about child development, teaching, learning, as well as assisting the teachers.

Wednesday 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Wednesday classes for third through seventh graders meet from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Syracuse Community Hebrew School. Some seventh grade students, upon the recommendation of their teachers, attend the Rabbi Jacob H. Epstein High School of Jewish Studies on Tuesday evenings, while other seventh graders attend classes at the Syracuse Community Hebrew School on Wednesday afternoons.
