Shabbat Evening 6:00 pm
Shabbat evening services begin every Friday at 6:00 pm. Congregants are encouraged to lead both the Kabbalat Shabbat and Ma’ariv sections of the service. Z’mirat Shabbat services, which incorporate musical instruments, are held periodically throughout the year.

Every week, Friday evening services are preceded by Asefat Shabbat. A light snack is available as congregants gather at 5:45 pm.

Shabbat Morning 9:30 am
Shabbat morning services begin every Saturday at 9:30 am. Congregants are encouraged to lead the different sections of the service. On occasion, post-Bnai Mitzvah teens lead Shabbat services as part of a program called in “It’s Cool to Daven in Shul.”

Once a month, Saturday morning services are followed by Shabbat Spot. A light lunch is available with board games, singing, and opportunities to relax and schmooze with fellow congregants of all ages. On occasion there is a study session in the library. USY teens help to organize activities and games for younger children.

Family Shorashim
CBS-CS also holds monthly Family Services called Shorashim, which means “roots” in Hebrew. Shorashim services are aimed primarily at Pre-Kindergarteners through fourth graders.

Friday night Shorashim services are from 7:30 pm – 8:15 pm and are followed by an Ice Cream Oneg. On some Shorashim Friday nights, the service is preceded by a light dairy dinner.

Saturday morning Shorashim services are from 10:30 am – 11:30 am. This family service is scheduled when there is also a Shabbat Spot for the whole congregation, which includes a light lunch. USY teens help to organize activities and games for younger children.
